Advocates for Youth Director to Address Steuben Teen Pregnancy Prevention Task Force
Posted on 5/13/2010Tom Klaus, the Program Director for Teen Pregnancy Prevention, Advocates for Youth, Washington, D.C. will present information on how to build a strong, locally-based pregnancy prevention coalition, and instill best practices on how to share resources and see successes most effectively. The presentation will be held at the Hornell Golf Club on Wednesday, October 20th at the Steuben Teen Pregnancy Prevention Task Force Annual Meeting
His six-hour session will be adapted from his presentation, Building Community Consensus and Public Will to Address Teen Pregnancy. This presentation includes the topics “What is Reasonable Engagement in Your Community?”; “Public Education Strategies”; “Working With Schools”; Community Organizing Framework”; “Key Tasks for Communitywide Groups”; and “Three Critical Themes for Managing Controversy.” Task Force leaders believe that this session is just what is needed to move the Task Force to the next level of growth and effectiveness.
